Duke Prosecutor can learn a thing or two here

From the Washington Post Sports Section (July 12, 2006, E2).

Prosecutors rejected a sexual assault claim against Los Angeles Lakers center Kwame Brown yesterday because of lack of evidence.
The allegation was made during the Lakers’ first-round Western Conference playoff series with Phoenix and had been under investigation since. Brown had denied any wrongdoing and was never arrested.
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said it decided not to prosecute Brown after “a medical exam of the victim was reviewed and revealed no signs of forcible sexual assault.” There was also no corroborating forensic evidence, it said.

So this story tells us one of two things, either it is ok to rape a woman if you play for the Lakers (ala Kobe Bryant) or if there is no sign of forcible sexual assault and no DNA evidence there was not a rape. Too bad the Duke Lacrosse players did not play in LA.
