Protect and Defend

Welcome to my blog, Protect and Defend. You don’t have to understand me. You only have to agree with me. I can live with losing the good fight, but I can not live with not fighting that good fight at all. - Publius

Thanks for the picture of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. We never get to see enough of him.

He gave a talk at my college when I was there and I was going to go but there were protestors all around the campus that day wanting a “Free Tibet.” I just didn’t feel like dealing with them and missed the speech. Not the biggest regret of my life, but it was an opportunity I should have taken advantage of.

I got to see HH at Rutgers Last fall, in the football stadium, with 20,000 of his closest friends. It was, for want of a better word, a transcendent experience.

I think the quote is particularly important. I think too often in some of our discussions we pretend opinion is fact. Now if a majority of people are of an opinion, that is a fact, but the opinion does not have to be based on fact.
I believe you should base your opinions on facts and not the other way around.
