Mein Fatherland

Germany defeated Argentina 4-2 in a shootout after a 1-1 draw, and Italy’s 3-0 victory over Ukraine sets up a Germany – Italy semifinal match to see who plays for it all.

Both Italy and Germany have seen a resurgence in national pride that will only benefit both countries and the European Union to deal with many long-standing feelings of guilt as a result of two World Wars. A strong and nationalistic Germany is good for the US and the World. And a possible Germany vs. England/France match-up could make this all the better.

Superman Returns

Can you believe this, in the Superman movie posters for the new movie Superman Returns, only some of the posters show Superman and an American flag with the quote, “Truth, Justice and the American Way.” And to make it worse, in post 9-11 America, Superman does not fight against Osama or Muslim Terrorists, but instead against a white-criminal-genius in Lex Luthor.
Listening to the Bill O’Reilly program today with Michael Smerconish sitting in for Bill, I listened as caller after caller made mention of how Christopher Reeve would be rolling over in his grave if he knew that in 2006, Superman was not taking on the real bad guys in Muslim Terrorists or that he would still work for a newspaper like the Daily Planet in Metropolis that was so obviously patterned after the treasonous New York Times. And to top it off Lois Lane is a single mother and Superman is trying to break up her family and take her away from her baby’s father.

To those on the Right who are so concerned about this movie and the damage and distortion it does to Superman, I can only say one thing…BFD!

I think Superman is just another illegal alien, and this time a real alien, who hides “in the shadows” and was adopted and became a US citizen using false documentation to keep his identity secret from the government. I will stick with Captain America, a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, superhero who fought the Nazis and used performance enhancing drugs to become an American Hero.

Lou Dobbs and the Mexican Presidential Election

Tonight, Lou Dobbs reported that Mexican nationals living here in the US will be allowed to vote in the upcoming Mexican Presidential Election this Sunday, and their votes will determine who becomes the next President. As many as 14 million Mexican nationals, both legal and illegal, will be eligible to vote. Read the transcript for yourself from the show (June 29, 2006).

DOBBS: Mexico holds its presidential election this coming Sunday. The government of Mexico has changed its election laws to create a new voting bloc within the United States. For the first time ever, expatriate Mexican citizens, including illegal aliens in this country, can vote in Mexico's presidential election. Lisa Sylvester reports.

(BEGIN VIDEOTAPE)LISA SYLVESTER, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice over): Araceli Rodriguez has lived in the United States for seven years with his family. For the first time since she left Mexico, she's casting a ballot in the Mexican presidential election. A change in Mexico's law last year allows Mexicans living abroad to vote for their candidate of choice. Forty thousand are expected to participate.

ARACELI RODRIGUEZ, MEXICAN EXPATRIATE (through translator): I've decided to vote to support because it is my country, and to have a better future, and so I can choose my president.

SYLVESTER: Rodriguez is voting for the candidate she feels will bring the most economic stability to Mexico. Like many first- generation newcomers, she still has strong ties to her home country, sending money to family there.

ANDREW SELEE, WOODROW WILSON CENTER: It's the first generation of immigrants are often looking homeward. They may be engaged in issues in the United States, but often there's a great nostalgia for the countries they come from.

SYLVESTER: But the Federation for American Immigration Reform says therein lies the problem. FAIR argues the change in this year's election takes away an incentive for newly-arrived Mexicans to adopt U.S. culture and politics and creates divided loyalties. Mexicans can apply for dual citizenship, they can vote in the United States and now Mexican presidential elections. They can even run for office in both countries.

JACK MARTIN, FEDERATION for AMERICAN IMMIGRATION REFORM: The large numbers of Mexicans who are maintaining their Mexican allegiance in the United States is inviting the Mexican government to medal in U.S. domestic affairs.

SYLVESTER: FAIR says it ultimately blurs the line of national sovereignty. Where does Mexico end and the United States begin? (END VIDEOTAPE)

SYLVESTER: And it is true that many American expatriates vote in U.S. elections from overseas, but FAIR says what is different here are the sheer numbers of eligible Mexican voters all concentrated in the United States, anywhere from four million to 10 million. And nowhere in the world, Lou, is there quite the same situation --

Lou. DOBBS: And it was interesting in your report the woman you profiled, both speaking Spanish and talking about her country, and referring to Mexico, not the United States. So she may be a newcomer, but it doesn't appear she wants to stay long.

SYLVESTER: Well, she also mentioned in there her president, and, of course, she wasn't referring to George W. Bush, she was referring to the president of Mexico.

But at Least the Mexican Drug Cartels Don’t Affect the US

Acapulco Police Find Human Head Outside City Hall

Thursday , June 29, 2006, Associated Press

ACAPULCO, Mexico — Police on Thursday found a human head inside a plastic bag dumped outside the main entrance of City Hall in this Pacific resort, a day after authorities discovered a decapitated body.
It was the fourth head found this year in Acapulco, where drug gangs have been battling each other and police for control of the local market and the resort's strategic location for smuggling drugs up the coast and into the United States.
Attached to the bag found Thursday was a note that read, "Lazcano, so that you keep sending me more idiots from GAFE," the Spanish acronym for the Special Forces Unit of the Mexican Army, which investigates drug trafficking, said police investigator Guillermo Rios Ramirez.
Lazcano is a surname and police were investigating for whom the note was intended.
The note was signed with the letter "Z," which authorities said was an attempt to link the killing to "Las Zetas," a group of former elite Mexican soldiers who now work for the Gulf drug cartel.
Authorities were investigating whether the head belonged to a decapitated body found Wednesday with the letter "Z" carved into the chest. The feet and hands were bound and the body appeared to have been dragged by a car down one of the city's main avenues.
The body was found outside the home of city employee Maria Teresa Ascencio Villasenor, a close ally of Mayor Felix Salgado. Ascencio and four of her relatives were injured May 10 when assailants launched a grenade near her home.
Neither the head nor body have been identified.
Salgado called the action of leaving the head "an act of provocation" aimed at forcing him out of the office he has held for only eight months.
Earlier this month, a severed human head washed up on the beach in the heart of Acapulco's tourist zone; the man's identity and how he was killed have not yet been determined.
In April, suspected drug hit men in Acapulco decapitated two police officers who had participated in a shootout with traffickers and left the severed heads at the scene with a note saying: "So that you learn some respect.",3566,201642,00.html

Another story about “Asian Men” in Europe killing young European girls

Suspect to Remain Jailed After Belgian Girls Found Dead
Thursday , June 29, 2006, Associated Press

LIEGE, Belgium — A court ruled Thursday that a suspect in the killing of two schoolgirls whose bodies were found hidden in a storm drain must remain jailed, despite his lawyers arguing there is no evidence linking him to the girls' disappearance and slaying.
A convicted child rapist, Abdallah Aid Oud, 39, has been charged with the girls' kidnapping and has been held by police since handing himself in on June 13. He denies any involvement in their disappearance almost three weeks ago.
Prosecutor Anne Bourguignon said investigators may not release the results of the autopsies on the two girls later Thursday as originally expected.
"We don't want to compromise the investigation," Bourguignon said.
The parents of the two girls — 7-year-old Stacy Lemmens and Nathalie Mahy, 10 — who all visited the morgue earlier Thursday, will be informed of the results of the autopsies first, officials said.
In the light of the killings, the European Union's top justice official urged all member states to step up their fight against pedophilia and child pornography. He said the European Commission is to adopt a European charter on children's rights next week, to increase the level of protection.
"I think the whole of Europe has to voice its outrage and horror at the murder of the two children here in Belgium, and we can only hope that the police and judicial inquiries under way will quickly bring the guilty person or persons to justice," EU Justice and Home Affairs Commissioner Franco Frattini told journalists in Brussels.
Mourners laid flowers and placed candles near the spot where the remains of the girls were found Wednesday stuffed into a storm sewer covered by thick undergrowth alongside a railroad line running through this gritty eastern steel town.
The classmates of Stacy and Nathalie got a day off from school Thursday to help them deal with the shock. The Belgian parliament canceled its weekly session out of respect for the victims…

White girls being targeted for rape and abuse by “Asian men” in the UK

And so you know, in the UK the term “Asian man” refers to Muslim, not Chinese or Indian, or Japanese, or any other term we in the US would associate with Asian. England is so PC as to confuse their own people about the dangers of the Muslims within their midst.

I know little about this news organization, but found a link to the story and it moved me enough to include it here too.

The British National Party today launched an election broadcast accusing West Yorkshire police of "politically correct censorship" for last week advising Channel 4 to pull a documentary from the schedules at the last minute.
The five minute broadcast, which will be aired on Channel Five on Friday, touches on some of the issues raised by the documentary Edge of the City, and features the mother of a young girl who claims her daughter was drugged and gang raped by Asian men.
Channel 4's documentary was pulled on the advice of West Yorkshire police last week for fear of stoking racial tension in the area ahead of local and European elections on June 10. Several BNP candidates are standing in the elections.
The programme claimed to show how Asian men in Bradford are grooming and targeting white girls as young as 11 for sex and drug abuse.
In the BNP's election broadcast, the West Yorkshire police are accused of "politically-correct censorship" for asking Channel 4 not to show the film.
It opens with a picture of a West Yorkshire police flag and the words: "It's official. West Yorkshire police chief Colin Cramphorn admits that he pressured Channel 4 to postpone the shocking expose about paedophile gangs targeting young white girls in Bradford because he thought it would have even more people like you voting for the BNP".
It continues with an actress voicing the words of the mother, "Donna", in Keighley, West Yorkshire. She talks about her 13-year-old daughter, who she claims was drugged by her Asian boyfriend and gang raped by his friends.
She says: "In a way we're lucky. Some of her friends have suffered the same abuse and ended up hooked on crack. I just want to get out of this town. We're just not at home here any more."
The broadcast, one of five to be screened on terrestrial television across the country this week, was previewed in a secret location in Halifax, West Yorkshire, amid tight security.
It was launched by Nick Cass, the BNP's No1 European candidate for Yorkshire and Humberside, the party's leader, Nick Griffin, and Jennifer Griffin, who produced the party's Welsh broadcast.
After the preview, Mr Griffin defended the broadcast and said the issues needed to be made public knowledge.
"There's mothers and relatives that we've spoken to who are desperate that things are being said about this and are delighted we are taking up the case," he said.
"What they need is a warning on television. They need things to tell their daughters, to say 'look, this is what can happen'," he added.
Mr Griffin went on to accuse Mr Cramphorn of "propagandising" and said it confirmed that police were interfering in politics. He added that the party's main broadcast, which will be shown on the BBC, could not be aired today as it had not yet received clearance.

Catholic Church

I have said here repeatedly that I am a Catholic and Irish Catholic at that. But, my Church has been a strong supporter of illegal immigrant rights, and recently I learned that while my parents were attending a Mass in eastern North Carolina, the church had a special collection for local immigrants. It is not too difficult to put two and two together and know that this collection was most likely for illegal immigrants.
I have long been proud of the Church’s support and aid for the poor and believe it was one of the Church’s greatest strengths in helping the poor. But, I am against the Church holding collections for illegal immigrants to aid them in staying in this country illegally. The easier we make it for them to stay the more difficult it will be to get them to leave. Obviously Catholicism is the predominant religion in Mexico and the rest of Latin and South America, but the money should be going to those churches for the people there instead. Growing up I remember collections for the children in Africa and other poor countries around the world and my parents would give money during those special collections so the poor in other countries might have food and other necessities. But, in giving the money to illegals in this country does not see the forest for the trees. It only encourages more illegal immigration and more special collections to assist the growing number of poor illegal immigrants who come to this country and it takes away money from the poor who are Americans and go without food and other necessities as well. America’s poor should not have to compete with poor illegals for our charity.
Yes, I am aware how “un-Christian” my statement here sounds, but giving charity to poor illegals not does not deal with the reality of the situation and it takes away from charity that could be given to poor Americans.

Black People

For those of you who do not read Newsweek Magazine, I encourage you to find the article in this week’s issue entitled “Black versus Brown: Can the venerable coalition survive the surge in Hispanic power?”
The article attempts to encourage a Black-Hispanic coalition to fight for power, or in effect take power away from those who are in power, by joining together. This coalition seems to have had more strength when blacks were the largest minority group but has since fallen to the wayside as Hispanics have grown in numbers and don’t need Black support as much as they did in the past.
The article preaches for Black-Latino unity while also explaining how this coalition has fragmented and often into violence in California where once predominately Black areas now have a Hispanic majority, including Compton, Watts, and Lynwood.

In the 1960s the Republican Party lost the Black vote by not supporting the Civil Rights Movement, even with Democrats like Gov. George Wallace blocking black students from the door at the University of Alabama. Illegal immigration and the rise of Hispanic power in traditionally Black areas could be the key to the Republican Party courting the Black vote away from the Democratic Party.

Hispanic Workers

I was driving to the store today to pick up some groceries having been away all weekend and there was little food left in the house, when I drove by a road crew putting in a new sidewalk along one of the four-lane highways here.
There were seven guys putting in the new sidewalk with two trucks on either side of the seven guys working. It was about 90 degrees outside today and although the speed limit was 40 mph I was able to take in the whole scene even while driving by and watching. All seven guys that were down on their hands and knees along the road working on the new sidewalk were Hispanic and there was one guy in one of the two trucks with the windows down on a cell phone who was white.
It struck me that this was what plantation life must have looked like with a white overseer on his horse or under the shade looking over a group of workers. This same scene is constantly played out in my area as new roads, bridges, sidewalks, and homes are constantly being built around my area. It was not that long ago that when new construction was going on that these workers would have been black and white and although there would have been someone sitting in “the truck” this person was generally and noticeably older, but this was not the case today.

World Cup

One last World Cup observations since they went over like a lead balloon around here.

If you watched and of the US World Cup games you might have noticed that when the other country’s national anthem was being played, the other country’s players would link arms and sing with pride for the opportunity to represent their country on the biggest stage in the world. But, the US players would stand there with some putting and hand over their hearts, only a few singing the words and all of them looking bored or tired. I don’t know if maybe the US players either just looked at the national anthem as an inconvenience before playing or worse, they don’t know the words to the song. Keller would be one of the few who actually seemed to sing and have pride in his opportunity to be at the World Cup and representing America, but you saw more players who would seem to mumble some parts to the anthem that they knew but otherwise keep the head down or stare off into space during the song.

In four years when the games are played in South Africa, and should the US qualify again, whoever the US coach is should correct this embarrassment. Too many people in this country show pride and nationalism for our country for a team that is supposed to represent that pride and nationalism to stand there during the "inconvenience" of our national anthem and not know the words to the song.

Southern Virginia

I got to spend the weekend in Southern Virginia not far from the North Carolina border and went into Greensboro, NC on Friday night. Greensboro is a great town and reminds me of a small Atlanta without all the traffic or the skyline and is more Southern than Atlanta now.

But, I noticed something more important about being in “The South” of Southern Virginia. Real rednecks don’t want to be called rednecks and don’t actively try to show off being rednecks, although they can’t really help it. Whereas people in the DC Metro area who watch NASCAR or the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and listen to country music will wear a “Redneck Pride” on the sleeves although they drive SUVs and live in McMansions. I fit like a glove down there but more because I can talk to the talk, but in spending time with actual rednecks I learned I can’t walk the walk. Fishing, hunting, and wide-open spaces with no traffic and few people seems like the Dream place to live except those people who live there don’t feel the same way.

It seems the grass is always greener on the other side.

Nacho Libre

Sunday night I went to go see this movie. If you have not seen it already, good, don’t, this movie is horrible. I thought Jack Black playing a Mexican monk/wrestler, this has to be funny. It was not.

The movie was by the same people who did Napoleon Dynamite, so they scenes drag on like Napoleon but they are not funny. And the movie was also done by Nickelodeon so there are plenty of fart jokes which are not even funny.

Only good parts about the movie:
1. A fat guy in tight pants.
2. Jack Black’s facial expressions.
3. The wrestling was actually pretty good.

But, this movie was horrible and you should avoid it like the plague. Don’t spend money to see it in the theaters, don’t spend money to rent it, and try not to waste your life by ever watching it once it is on free cable.

Businesses that Don’t Hire Illegals

This site “links to the thousands of businesses across the country that already are participating in the federal Basic Pilot program, the easy-to-use electronic employment eligibility verification system. Use of the Basic Pilot program makes smart business sense because it ensures that all new hires have a legal right to work in the United States. And it protects employers from fines and penalties for knowingly or unknowingly hiring illegal foreign workers.”

This site is easy to use and provides information on local businesses that use the Basic Pilot Program so you know where to shop and where not to shop if you care about illegal information.

Dallas County Wants Refunds for Mexicans' Health Care

From (June 25, 2006).

Commissioners in Dallas County, Texas, plan to ask the Mexican government to pay for the medical care given to Mexican nationals at a local hospital.
Each year, Dallas County taxpayers spend $15 million to treat Mexican nationals at Parkland Hospital - and that total includes only the first two days of the patients' emergency care, according to CBS 11 News in Dallas.
"We will be sending a bill to Mexico's president to explain to him and to the embassy how much money it is costing the Dallas County taxpayer to treat their residents, and they need to reimburse Dallas County," said County Judge Margaret Keliher.
Jesse Diaz, local president of the League of United Latin American Citizens, complained: "Why punish Mexico? Mexico should not be a scapegoat ... the immigrants are paying taxes, buying homes and cars, and are contributing to the economy."
Dallas County will also send bills to nearby Texas counties whose residents seek care at Parkland - running up a tab of nearly $27 million a year, according to Keliher.
Dallas can't force those other counties to pay up. But Parkland's board chair Dr. Lauren McDonald said if outsiders don't pay their fair share of emergency and trauma care, it will have a devastating effect on the hospital and those who rely on it.

Still want to know why that Aspirin costs so much or why health insurance costs so much?

Official: 7 arrested in Sears Tower plot

By KELLI KENNEDY, Associated Press Writer, June 22, 2006
Seven people were arrested Thursday in connection with the early stages of a plot to attack Chicago's Sears Tower and other buildings in the U.S., including the FBI office here, a federal law enforcement official said.
As part of the raids related to the arrests, FBI agents swarmed a warehouse in Miami's Liberty City area, using a blowtorch to take off a metal door. One neighbor said the suspects had been sleeping in the warehouse while running what seemed to be a "military boot camp."
The official told The Associated Press the alleged plotters were mainly Americans with no apparent ties to al-Qaida or other foreign terrorist organizations. He spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to pre-empt news conferences planned for Friday in Washington and Miami…
Residents living near the warehouse said the men taken into custody described themselves as Muslims and had tried to recruit young people to join their apparently militaristic group.
The residents said FBI agents spent several hours in the neighborhood showing photos of the suspects and seeking information. They said the men, who appeared to be in their teens or 20s, had lived in the area about a year.
The men slept in the warehouse, said Tashawn Rose, 29. "They would come out late at night and exercise. It seemed like a military boot camp that they were working on there. They would come out and stand guard."
She talked to one of the men about a month ago: "They seemed brainwashed. They said they had given their lives to Allah."
Rose said the men tried to recruit her younger brother and nephew for a karate class. "It was weird," she said.
Benjamin Williams, 17, said the group had young children with them sometimes. Sometimes, he added, the men "would cover their faces. Sometimes they would wear things on their heads, like turbans."
Xavier Smith, who attends the nearby United Christian Outreach, said the men would often come by the church and ask for water.
"They were very private," said Smith, 33. "The spoke with like an accent, sort of a Jamaican accent."…
The 110-floor Sears Tower is the nation's tallest building. Security was ramped up after the Sept. 11 attacks, and the 103rd-floor skydeck was closed for about a month and a half…
Several terrorism investigations have had south Florida links. Several of the Sept. 11 hijackers lived and trained in the area, including ringleader Mohamed Atta, and several plots by Cuban-Americans against Fidel Castro's government have been based in Miami.
Jose Padilla, a former resident once accused of plotting to detonate a radioactive bomb in the U.S., is charged in Miami with being part of a support cell for Islamic extremists. Padilla's trial is set for this fall.

These people are dangerous and they want to kill us. Until we understand that We Are At War and that war is not just in Iraq and Afghanistan, we will never be safe.

Me vs. The Christian Right

As some of you know I have said repeatedly that I am a social conservative and feel very strongly in it and in my beliefs. I believe social conservatives in general want a better, more decent, and more law abiding society.

Like the Christian Right I am for school prayer, keeping “Under God” in the Pledge, allowing the Ten Commandments to be posted in public buildings, I am against gay marriage, I believe the sanctity of marriage has become a farce, the family union no longer exists in too many households, that we are becoming too secular, and that not only do people want to take the Christ out of Christmas but they want to take Christmas out of the “Holiday Season.”

I hope you noticed some things were missing there.

I am Pro-Life but it is not a black or white issue. If the mother’s life is in danger the mother should have a choice. If a woman is raped she should not have to live with a daily reminder of that ordeal for 9 months. If a child was molested, no child should be having babies or forced to have a baby. In cases of incest especially against the will of the mother no girl or woman should be forced to have a child. But, I am against using abortions as a form of birth control and I am completely opposed to the grotesque practice of partial-birth abortions. I believe a minor should get parental permission to have an abortion, if an underage person can’t have their tonsils taken out without permission from a parent or guardian they definitely should not be allowed to have a child taken out of them. I know this still leaves a lot of unresolved scenarios and situations such as a woman who simply does not want to have a baby but got pregnant, but we need to start with a middle ground.

I am for teaching abstinence in schools, but we are all taught that and it does not work. We also need to teach kids all the dangers of sex including pregnancy, STDs, and the emotional impact of engaging in such behavior. Kids and adults simply don’t know enough, there are plenty of STDs that I do not know about and I have no idea which STDs can still be contracted even when using a condom and which STDs can still be contracted from oral sex. If I can sit here with a Master’s Degree and say that than I am sure there are plenty of kids not out of High School or even Middle School who can say the same. I don’t want condoms to be handed out in school but I do want kids to know the dangers that are involved anytime they decide to engage in any sexual activity and right now there are simply not being told.

I believe in Creationism and I believe in Evolution. But, until a scientist can prove to me creationism it should not be taught in the classroom if all they can use as evidence is the bible, unless they can also explain how Moses parted the Red Sea as well and can do it too.

I am against gay marriage but I am not against gay people, to me there is a difference. A person can be gay and not get married or engage in sexual activity, any snide comments aside, there are many Priests who forgo both and live happy, peaceful, and productive lives.

I believe there is too much violence and nudity on television, in music, in movies, and video games, but it is not the sole responsibility of the government to protect our children from it, parents also need to share in the responsibility.

I believe a person has the right to not believe in God, I don’t hold the same beliefs and don’t think I ever could, but I neither damn them to Hell nor do I want them to force or push their beliefs on me or society. I will not tell them to be Catholic or say Catholic prayers, or convert to Catholicism if they don’t try to do the same.

I believe a salesperson or clerk has the right to not tell me Marry Christmas if they do not celebrate Christmas, but no salesperson or clerk should be prevented from telling someone Merry Christmas.

I believe in morality, but I do not believe I have the final say on what is and isn’t moral.

National Language

I was in 7-11 today. I stopped in for gas and some Skoal, yes I do like to dip. Now, I am use to going into 7-11 or any convenience store around here anymore and having to tell the person behind the counter what I want, and then point to it behind the register and they walk back there and I have to motion them left or right until they get to what I am asking for, which is why I typically go to the same place because they know me now and know what I am asking for.
Two weeks ago I went into a Texaco and did the same thing, I asked for a “Can of Apple Skoal, please,” and the man behind the register reached for the Red Man, so I pointed higher, he grabbed a blue can, I told him green, he grabbed an orange can, I told him again green, he reached for a purple can, and I told him again green and pointed to something on his counter that was the same color. Now this was not a big deal and I was in no real hurry so I just paid for my can and left.
But, today I was in my usual 7-11 and was in one line to check out when a woman came in and asked the man behind the counter if he knew were a particular business was, his response was a smile and “I no speak English.” I had noticed the woman outside prior to this go up to a couple of guys who I had heard speaking Spanish before walking in and she was rebuffed there as well. I don’t know if this was because they also couldn’t speak English or if they did not know where the place was. The woman then turned to the man who was getting my Skoal and asked him, he smiled and said, “Sorry no English.” The woman turned to me in a bit of frustration and asked me. Now, I am far from the Good Samaritan but I wanted to help. I did not know where the business was she was going and I did not recognize the street either, although I could tell from the zip code that she was not too far off. She thanked me and said she would try to go to another gas station and try to get help there. Luckily I noticed a rack by the door of local maps and we were able to look up the street, and although it was about two miles from where we were I was able to help her and gave her some easy directions.

But, I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if she was looking for something at night and I had not been there in 7-11. I didn’t stop to think about whether the two men who were working in 7-11 who were of Middle Eastern or Indian descent were legal or not, or whether the guys outside speaking Spanish were legal or now. But, I did stop to think about those who argue against making people learn English and I wondered what this woman would have done had I not been there.

War Quote

“Stay the course? I don’t think so, Mr. President.”

-Nancy Pelosi, “House minority leader, urging her colleagues to set a timetable for U.S. troops to leave Iraq. The proposal was rejected” (Time, June 26, 2006).

Team USA loses to Ghana 2-1 and my Czech team lost to Italy 2-0.

The Czechs were too old and the Americans too flat. Beasley should never be allowed to play for Team USA again after acting like a child and playing like one, and Donovan needs to go see a doctor because he played like he had no heart. Coach Arena thank you for 4 years ago and 5 championships with UVA, but it is time to go too.

USA World Cup Chant

The U.S. easily has the worst chant of any team in the World Cup to the point that most people don’t even know it.

Here is England’s:

I’m English ‘til I die
I’m English ‘til I die
We will win the World Cup
And the Germans will cry!
(Sports Illustrated, June 19, 2006).

Here is ours:

Our legs shall never tire!
Our hearts will see us through!
Goals! Goals! Goals!
For the red, white, and blue!
(Sports Illustrated, June 19, 2006).

It is so bad that Drew Carey and the Travel Channel are asking for people to submit their own USA chant and Drew will get the tailgating fans to sing the winning chant outside of soccer stadiums in Germany. Go to the Travel Channel website for more info:

USA vs. Ghana

Tomorrow is the big day; will Team USA defeat Ghana and move on to the second round? Will Team USA score a goal? The U.S. team lost to the Czech Republic 3-0 in the first game and Ghana beat the Czech Republic 2-0 in their second games.
Find out tomorrow starting at 9:55 a.m. EST. I am going to be up and planted in front of the TV with the surround sound on and ready to go.

Go USA! Its 3 stripes against 13 and 1 star against 50.

Pa. city poised for immigration crackdown

By MICHAEL RUBINKAM, Associated Press WriterMon Jun 19, 2:24 PM ET

With tensions rising and the police department and municipal budget stretched thin, Hazleton is about to embark on one of the toughest crackdowns on illegal immigrants anywhere in the United States.
Last week the mayor of this former coal town introduced, and the City Council tentatively approved, a measure that would revoke the business licenses of companies that employ illegal immigrants; impose $1,000 fines on landlords who rent to illegal immigrants; and make English the official language of the city.
"Illegal immigrants are destroying the city," said Mayor Lou Barletta, a Republican. "I don't want them here, period."
Barletta said he had no choice but to act after two illegal immigrants from the Dominican Republic were charged last month with shooting and killing a 29-year-old man. Other recent incidents involving illegal immigrants have rattled this city 80 miles northwest of Philadelphia, including the arrest of a 14-year-old boy for firing a gun at a playground.
"This is crazy," the mayor said. "People are afraid to walk the streets. There's going to be law and order back in Hazleton, and I'm going to use every tool I possibly can."
The City Council, which approved the measure in a 4-1 vote, must vote on it twice more before it can become law. The next vote is scheduled for mid-July.
When Barletta took office in 2000, Hispanics represented about 5 percent of the city's population of 23,000. The population has since shot up to 31,000, with Hispanics now representing 30 percent, lured to Hazleton by cheap housing, a lower cost of living and jobs in nearby plants, factories and farms.
City officials do not know how many of the new arrivals are in the United States illegally, but say they are fueling the drug trade, joining gangs and committing other crimes.
Municipal officials around the nation, frustrated at what they perceive as the federal government's inability to stem illegal immigration, have increasingly taken matters into their own hands.
In San Bernardino, Calif., voters will decide whether to adopt a measure nearly identical to the one in Hazleton. An Idaho county filed a racketeering lawsuit against agricultural companies accused of hiring illegal immigrants. In New Hampshire, a pair of police chiefs began arresting illegal immigrants for trespassing…
Whites in Hazleton seem to overwhelmingly favor the proposed crackdown. Barletta's office has been flooded with hundreds of approving e-mails and phone calls — from as far as California and Florida — and he got a standing ovation when he walked into a Hazleton diner for lunch.
"It's about time," said Francis X. Tucci, 57, who was born and raised in Hazleton and owns a hair salon in the heart of the Hispanic business district. "We were a nice community. You find bad everywhere, I understand that, but we're talking about here and now."
Some Hispanics approve of the measure, saying they are fed up with crime and graffiti. "If I was mayor, I wouldn't let anyone in who had a criminal record," said Rafael Rovira, 69, a naturalized American citizen from the Dominican Republic…
Jose Lechuga, 42, came to the United States illegally in 1982, received amnesty in 1986 and now operates a grocery store and restaurant in Hazleton. He said the mayor is "confusing illegal people with criminals."

White People

Why aren’t White People proud to be white?
I am not talking about a “If they got BET we should have WET,” and I am not talking about the “If they got a Black Miss America Pageant we should have a White Miss America Pageant.”
But, if you look at Congress with the recent allegations against Congressman Jefferson that he accepted bribes or if you look at Congresswoman McKinney who hit a Capital Hill Police Officer, after both occurrences, the Congressional Black Caucus came out and supported both Congressmen. After the Duke rape allegation, the Black Panthers held a rally in Durham. In the Duke rape case, the accused were all white and protests were held outside of the house where the rape allegedly occurred by mostly white people.
During the recent immigration rallies you had legal Hispanic citizens protesting with illegal Hispanic aliens as a sign of solidarity. Hispanics who were citizens were not protesting for rights they already have but for rights for people who looked or talked like they do.
There are numerous Muslim Anti-Defamation Leagues that have arisen since 9-11, and Islamic schools have begun to show up all over the country.
Groups like the NAACP, La Raza, Casa de Maryland, the Black Panthers, etc all show support and pride in their racial/ethnic backgrounds. But, there are no such groups for whites. There is a Black History Month, Hispanic History Month, and Asian History Month, but no month to show pride in White/European Heritage.
Is being white bad? Can white people not show pride in being white without being perceived as racists? Why can’t white people come together for a cause like other racial and ethnic groups? White people can claim to be a redneck and in doing so show support for their particular sub-culture of whites, but even this is looked at with ridicule by both whites and non-whites as if being a redneck makes you inbred, uneducated, and a racist.

Do whites just not care about other whites with the same passion as other racial and ethnic groups, and if they do are that wrong? Is white pride limited to the Klan and Aryan groups? What the hell is wrong with white people?

Say it with me, I am white and I am proud.

I thought my Czech Republic team was robbed, but the USA got screwed by the ref against Italy which ended in a 1-1 tie. I understand if the world does not like us but that should not influence the refs which it clearly looked like it did. The piss-poor ref in this game is a guy from Uruguay and was suspended from being a ref in the last World Cup because of poor referring 8 years ago.

The USA is not completely out but there chances are not looking good. They still have not scored a goal in this World Cup with their one goal this game being scored by an Italian player on his own goal.

If Italy beats the Czech Republic though and the USA beats Ghana they will get to move on though. I am going to have to cheer for Italy now against my Czech Republic.
BOO to the refs again

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic lost to Ghana 0-2 in today’s World Cup Match. Ghana was often called offside which took away a late goal that would have made it 0-3, but the refs also allowed an offside that led to Ghana’s second goal.
The refs made some terrible calls that handed the match to Ghana including a Red Card late in the second half that led to the Czech Republic having to play a man down. Unless a Czech player was fouled near midfield, the refs would not call it and the Czech Republic lost, not because they were over matched but because they could not defeat both Ghana and the refs.

Cuba, China and Iran

Ok, I am no expert but from what I have read these are the only counties in the world that ban flag burning; although I seem to recall that Iran loves burning the U.S. flag.

I am not sure where I stand on a Constitutional Amendment to ban flag burning if this information is correct. I have mentioned here and on numerous Kool-Aid blogs that the U.S. is part of only 8% of the countries in the world that do not have an Official Language and the response was that the U.S. should not have to be like the rest of the world on such an important issue. Well, should the U.S. be with the rest of the world on this issue too?

I hate to think that the U.S. would be lumped into the same category on any issue with these three countries, but there are few things that upset me more than seeing someone burn the American flag that they have done nothing to protect. Those who burn the flag are not “defending free speech,” they are making a political statement and we do have laws against free political speech.

I am against flag burning but I would rather our Congress be more worried about making sure we still have a U.S. flag rather than this country falling under the national colors of a different country.

Businesses that Don’t Hire Illegals

Want to know which businesses in your area don’t hire illegals?

This site “links to the thousands of businesses across the country that already are participating in the federal Basic Pilot program, the easy-to-use electronic employment eligibility verification system.Use of the Basic Pilot program makes smart business sense because it ensures that all new hires have a legal right to work in the United States. And it protects employers from fines and penalties for knowingly or unknowingly hiring illegal foreign workers.”

This site is easy to use and provides information on local businesses that use the Basic Pilot Program so you know where to shop and where not to shop if you care about illegal information.

14.4 Million Beneficiaries from Senate-passed Amnesty

From NumbersUSA.

A new report prepared by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) estimates that nearly 9.9 million illegal aliens will receive amnesty under the Senate-passed bill (S. 2611), and that 25 percent of this total will receive amnesty through fraudulent means. CIS also estimates that 4.5 million family members of illegal aliens currently living abroad will join their legalized relatives. CIS bases these estimates on experience from the 1986 amnesty. Congratulations to Angola

Angola tied Mexico today 0-0 in one of the most shocking “upsets” so far in this World Cup.
That Angola tied one of my Axis of Evil Countries makes it all the better. I am not a big fan of their communist flag, but I will let it slide in the hopes that today’s victory helps ease some of the pain of Angola’s more than 20 year Civil War.

Political Ideologies

This is how I see the various political ideologies that people claim to hold.

Libertarian- I want to do as many dugs as I want. I want to own as many guns as I want. I don’t want the government to tell me to do or be anything. But, I do want the government to have a strong police force because I don’t want anyone to shoot me and take my drugs. Oh and I want a strong military because I don’t want someone from another country coming in and taking my drugs. But, I don’t want the government to tax me because I don’t want to pay for either.

Liberals- We are all equal and we should all should be treated equally and we should all have equal possessions because none of us are any better than anyone else. Except me because I am special.

Conservative- This country once was great but now we are headed down a slippery slope towards our own destruction, so we will do anything we can to slow it down or put a stop to the destruction on this country.

Socialist- I want the government to take care of me from the day I am born until the day I die. I don’t want to have to make any real decisions but I do want the government to ensure I have a job or at least unemployment that will allow me to live in a manner I am accustomed to, I want to take at least a month of vacation a year, and I should never be fired for doing a bad job because I am still doing a job. I would care more about what is going on, but that is the government’s job.

Communist- We love the Leader because the Leader tells us we love him. We the workers and the farmers shall rule as the Leader shays we should. The Leader has provided for us including this bread line I have been standing in for the past three hours.

Fascists/Totalitarians- Under the rule of one good man we will have good government and under good government we will have a good society. We love the one who leads because he is a good man and we will do anything he asks because he is a good man and under the rule of one good man we will all prosper.

Pacifists- Violence is never the answer. Martin Luther King, Jr. did not use violence, Gandhi did not use violence and they both changed the world. Hitler would have eventually died so peaceful protests would have worked to stop his evil rule too.

Environmentalist- Corporations are destroying the environment. Government is destroying the environment. SUVs are destroying the environment. Hunters are destroying the environment. Fossil Fuels are destroying the environment. That’s why I only wear all hemp, never eat meat, and ride my bicycle to work and Starbucks.

Radical Islam- Kill the infidels. Those in the West are infidels. All non-Muslims are infidels.

Christian Right- Creationism is based on the bible so we know it is true. Darwinism is based on theories and there is not enough evidence to support it. If we were from apes God would have told us that, but he didn’t. What are you going to believe, God or a theory?

55 Illegal Immigrants Arrested at Dulles Site

From the Washington Post Metro Section (June 15, 2006).

Raid at Construction Area Is Part of National Effort to Deflect Terrorist Threats
Federal authorities arrested 55 illegal immigrants yesterday at a construction site on Dulles International Airport grounds, the latest in a string of post-Sept. 11 raids at locations the government considers vulnerable to security threats.
The workers, all Latin American men employed by two construction companies, worked in a secured area on airport property, where as many as 2,000 laborers work each day on building projects that include a planned airport train system and a new runway, officials said.
The arrests took place early yesterday as the yellow school buses ferrying workers from a parking lot to the construction site stopped at a security checkpoint on the edge of airport property. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who were waiting checked their work and immigration documents, and those whose documents did not hold up were handcuffed and transported to an Alexandria field office for questioning, ICE spokesman Dean Boyd said.
The arrests, authorities said, are part of a government campaign to root out illegal workers at "critical infrastructure" sites nationwide that could be targeted by terrorists -- such as airports, shipyards, nuclear plants and military bases. ICE agents recently arrested 14 illegal workers at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head and 25 others at a Memphis chemical plant.
None of the workers arrested at Dulles or in Indian Head was involved in terrorist activity, authorities said. But they said all illegal immigrants can pose security risks.
"Not only are the identities of these individuals in question, but these aliens are also vulnerable to exploitation by terrorists and other criminals, given their illegal status in this country," ICE Assistant Secretary Julie L. Myers said in a statement.
The Dulles effort comes as Congress debates plans to revamp the nation's immigration laws and authorities step up enforcement against illegal immigrants and employers. In April, agents arrested seven current and former managers and more than 1,100 workers for pallet-producer Ifco Systems North America Inc.
Also yesterday, authorities announced a nationwide roundup of nearly 2,200 illegal immigrants, many with histories of criminal violence. More than 800 of those arrested have been deported, and the rest are awaiting removal from the country, authorities said. About half have criminal records, including 146 with convictions for sexually assaulting juveniles. Those include a District man, identified by authorities as Wilbur Kuk, 24, a Mexican national. ICE officials said he has a record of arrests on charges of abduction, malicious wounding, robbery and unlawful use of a firearm.
Observers on both sides of the immigration debate have said the work-site raids amount to little more than a public relations effort. But the crackdown efforts have sent fear through immigrant communities and sparked widespread rumors of additional raids.
Word of the Dulles arrests spread slowly yesterday, in part because Spanish-language radio, a key source for such information, was focused on the World Cup soccer tournament. Still, immigrant groups condemned the action.
Authorities said they targeted employees of two companies, whose names they did not release. But several witnesses and workers at the site yesterday said most of those arrested were employed by Lane Construction Corp., a Connecticut company working on the airport train project. A Lane spokesman referred questions to Jay S. Cruickshank, vice president for legal and safety matters, who did not return calls.
No managers were arrested yesterday, but Boyd said the investigation will continue. To charge employers, authorities must prove they knowingly hired illegal immigrants, he said.
One arrested worker held an airport security badge that grants unescorted access to the airport tarmac, authorities said. Most were scheduled to be flown last night to a detention center in El Paso for deportation proceedings, Boyd said…

Fatherland Pride

From the Washington Post Sports Section (June 14, 2006).

The World Cup has stirred a new sense of pride in Germans who for decades viewed flag-waving as a shameful reminder of a painful past.
More than 60 years since the end of World War II, and nearly two decades after east and west reunited, Germans are suddenly wearing their patriotism on their sleeves – and cheeks, and heads. Their black, red and gold flag flutters from cars, windows and balconies as never before…
Many have insisted that Germans, after years pondering their role in two world wars and numerous efforts to atone for atrocities, deserve to celebrate like any other nation.
“People have recognized the World Cup offers a once in a lifetime chance to refute all the prejudices against us,” wrote Matthias Matussek, cultural editor of the Spiegel weekly,” to show that national pride is not something dark and evil, but something very natural – even light and celebratory.”

After 60 years it is time for the German Giant to retake its place as the leader of the continent.

More on S. 2611

I got this verbatim from Full blog here:
But, as it would appear we want the same things on illegal immigration, I figure the more people who know the better.

The immigration bill just passed by the U.S. Senate:

The media have reported on the sections that grant illegal residents amnesty (aka path to legalization or earned citizenship). But the media have censored out of their news reports the sections that are 10 to 20 times more costly and far more dishonest than playing games with the word amnesty. In large print, the 795-page bill announces its "temporary guest worker" plan. Those words are lies because the fine print in the bill converts these workers, who are given H-2C visas, into permanent residents with the right to become citizens after five years.

The plan will start by importing 200,000 H-2C workers in the first year. The H-2Cers can immediately bring in their family members on H-4 visas, without any numeric limits and without being required to have a physical, and they will also get permanent legal residence and citizenship. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that this bill would import 7.8 million immigrants, and convert another 11 million current immigrants, legal and illegal, into U.S. citizens over the next decade. The Heritage Foundation estimates that 66 million new citizens will be added to the current population over the next 20 years. The number would accelerate as the racket called family chain migration allows more new residents to bring in more and more relatives.

The bill gives these temporary workers some preferential rights that U.S. workers do not have. These new temporary workers can't be fired from their jobs except for "just cause," they must be paid the prevailing wage, and they can't be arrested for other civil immigration offenses if they are stopped for traffic violations.

The bill assures the preference of in-state college tuition (something that is denied to U.S. citizens in 49 states), and certain types of college financial assistance will be available to illegals at the state's option. As minorities, they might even get affirmative action preferences in jobs, government contracts, and college admissions. After the so-called temporary workers and their spouses become citizens, they can bring in their parents as permanent residents on the path to citizenship. Although the parents have never paid into Social Security, they will be eligible for Supplemental Security Income benefits, and in 46 states they will be eligible for full Medicaid benefits after five years. Siblings and adult children (and their families) will be given preference in future admissions.

The demographics of the so-called temporary workers are expected to be similar to those of the illegal immigrants already in our country. More than half will be high school dropouts, they will work low-paid jobs that require payment of little or no income tax, they are 50 percent more likely to receive taxpayer-funded government benefits than natural-born households, and they have a 42 percent rate of out-of-wedlock births (all of whom, of course, will be granted automatic U.S. citizenship).

Estimates of the cost to the taxpayers of this gargantuan expansion of the welfare state are at least $50 billion a year over the long term. U.S. taxpayers will pay for entitlements to these tens of millions of low-income families, including Medicaid, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income, Earned Income Tax Credit (cash handouts of up to $4,400 a year to low-wage households), public schooling and lunches, the WIC program, food stamps, public housing, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.

Celebrity babies

Congratulations to Matt Damon and his WIFE, Luciana, who gave birth to their daughter Isabella this past Sunday in Miami. Also, congratulations to actor/comedian Jack Black and his WIFE, Tanya Haden, who gave birth to a baby boy this Saturday in Los Angeles.
So it seems there are celebrities who have children with their wives, and they don’t have to shut down African nations to do it either.

But look at the whole story on illegals crossing the border

Fewer Mexican immigrants trek to U.S.

SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, Mexico -- Fewer Mexican immigrants are trying to illegally enter the United States this month, officials and activists said, as U.S. National Guard troops began arriving along the border in Arizona.

U.S. authorities said Monday that detentions along the U.S.-Mexico border decreased 21%, to 26,994, in the first 10 days of June, compared with 34,077 for the period a year ago. Along Arizona's border, once the busiest area, detentions dropped 23%, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.

The 55 soldiers who arrived June 3 are the first of about 6,000 troops to be dispatched along the 2,000-mile border as part of a plan to stem illegal immigration to the United States.

The soldiers aren't allowed to detain immigrants and have been limited to projects such as extending border fences, but their presence is keeping would-be crossers away, immigrant-rights activists said.

Francisco Loureiro, who runs an immigrant shelter in Nogales, Mexico, across the border from Arizona, said immigrants are afraid of the U.S. troops after hearing reports of abuse in Iraq.

"Some migrants have told me they heard about the troops on television, and, because the U.S. Army doesn't have a very good reputation, they prefer not to cross," Loureiro said. Others have been discouraged by smugglers' fees that have nearly doubled to more than $3,000.

Jorge Vazquez, coordinator for Mexico's Grupo Beta immigrant aid agency in San Luis Rio Colorado, across from San Luis, Ariz., said that before the troops arrived, his agents encountered at least two dozen immigrants daily, most waiting for nightfall to begin their trek.

"There have been days ... when we've found only three migrants," Vazquez said.

Some immigrants may be moving to the California-Mexico border, where detentions were up 7% to 5,965 in the first 10 days of June, compared with the same period a year ago.

The National Guard plan has been criticized in Mexico as heavy-handed.

The Mexican government has said it will watch to ensure troops aren't detaining immigrants.

There are actually two stories here.
The first story is that by just announcing the move to put the National Guard along the border this announcement has lead to a 21% decrease in illegal crossings compared to the same time last year.
The second and more important story is that even with the threat of National Guardsmen, 27,000 illegals still crossed the U.S. and Mexico border over a 10 day span.
These 55 Guardsmen are a start, and the 6,000 that are on the way are also part of that start. But, the scale of this problem is too great for Guardsman alone to have an impact. We need Guardsmen and we need a wall and we need to re-establish the rule of law along our borders.

The Reconquista is real.

I freely admit I found this post on Michelle Malkin’s blog. Notice the positions held by those who make these comments about the “dying white people,” or “taking back our land.” I am done with Europe’s immigration problem for awhile because we have our own and much greater problem here.

AZTLAN, THE MOVIE has prepared this disturbing video (right click to open) featuring the voices of prominent Latinos figures dubbed over images from the recent illegal immigrant marches.

Much of what you hear in the video was actually recorded several years ago. That doesn't make it any the less sinister. I've read all of this stuff before but hearing it spoken, sometimes in a voice quivering with hatred, is another experience altogether.

Czech Republic

The Czech Republic defeated the USA 3-0 today in the opening round game for both teams in Group E. The U.S. looked flat and entirely uninterested the entire game. The U.S. needs to win the remaining two games to get into the next round, otherwise another loss and they are out, and a tie and a win may not be enough.
With Italy defeating Ghana 2-0 today, the USA is in a must win situation this Saturday against Italy.

The State of Arizona Fighting Illegal Immigration

From the Associated Press ( ,
June 9, 2006).

A judge on Friday upheld an Arizona law that made immigrant smuggling a state crime, rejecting arguments that it was never intended to target immigrants - only the human traffickers they hire.
Judge Thomas O'Toole said there was no evidence that lawmakers "intended to exclude any prosecution for conspiracy to commit human smuggling."
Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas has used the law to charge more than 200 people, most of them immigrants accused of paying to be smuggled into Arizona.
Defense lawyers and the law's author said it was intended to apply only to smugglers. Defense attorneys also called it an unconstitutional attempt by the state to regulate immigration, which they contend is under the exclusive control of the federal government.
The Arizona Legislature passed the law in August amid growing frustration over the state's porous 375-mile border with Mexico and the huge health care and education costs for illegal immigrants and their families.
The Pew Hispanic Research Center estimates that 500,000 of the state's population of about 6 million are illegal immigrants.
In the case decided Friday, 48 illegal immigrants were charged as conspirators to human smuggling after they were discovered in a pair of furniture trucks in March about 50 miles west of Phoenix. Some have pleaded guilty to solicitation to commit human smuggling, a lower-tier felony that carries up to a year in jail.
Timothy Agan, one of the attorneys who challenged the law, said he plans to appeal the ruling to the Arizona Court of Appeals.
The law's use has been limited mostly to Maricopa County, the state's most populous county and a hub for smugglers transporting illegal workers across the country.

It is a damn shame with a state has to do the federal government’s job and even worse that there are attorneys who try to stop a state from upholding its laws. I commend the state of Arizona and I hope that all states will pass a similar law which would allow local law enforcement to deal with the 13 million plus illegal immigrants in this country.

Mexico vs. Iran

Mexico defeated Iran 3-1 in the World Cup Group D opener games. I was really rooting against both teams and was happy when the score was tied 1-1.

Muslim Protests and World Cup Prostitution

From today’s Washington Post Sports Section (June 9, 2006).

At the Pascha, a 12-story building that advertises itself as Europe's biggest brothel, the working girls are preparing for what they hope will be a surge in business as more than a million soccer fans flock to Germany for the World Cup, which begins Friday.
At the same time, the Pascha's workforce of about 120 women is bracing for what some fear will be increased competition in the world's oldest profession. Buying and selling sex is entirely legal in Germany, prompting estimates that tens of thousands of foreign prostitutes will enter the country looking for business during the month-long tournament.
"Of course we'll have more customers," said Armin Lobscheid, the managing director of Pascha, a Moorish-theme bordello with whirlpools, beauty salons and an entire floor staffed by transsexuals. "If someone wants to party here, it doesn't matter if their team has won or lost."
The Pascha normally caters to about 1,000 paying clients a day, but Lobscheid said he is expecting a 50 percent increase during the World Cup. He's also reserving 30 rooms for soccer fans who want someplace to stay during the tournament, at the rate of $260 a night, not including the cost of sex.
The prospect of a prostitution boom during the World Cup, however, has stirred almost as many passions as the debate over who will win the 32-team tournament. Anti-prostitution groups are warning about a potential boom in sex trafficking, predicting that as many as 40,000 prostitutes will be forcibly imported into Germany by pimps and smugglers…
The combination of soccer and sex has led to other controversies. In April, a group of about 30 protesters, including some armed with knives and clubs, gathered outside the Pascha to demand the removal of a huge mural on the side of the building featuring a scantily clad woman and the national flags of all 32 teams participating in the World Cup.
The protesters were Muslims, angry that the flags of Saudi Arabia and Iran were depicted next to an uncovered female. The Pascha removed the offending flags and apologized.
Prostitution has long been tolerated in Germany, but it officially became legal in 2002. Reliable figures on the sex trade are elusive, but some government statistics suggest that there are as many as 400,000 registered workers in the industry…
Juergen Laggies, a police spokesman, said officers recently inspected 330 places where sex is regularly sold -- from brothels to private apartments. After checking the identification papers of 1,500 women, he said, they found no cases of forced prostitution…
Anti-prostitution groups have assailed German officials for allowing the construction of drive-through "sex shacks" in select cities, as part of a program to encourage prostitutes to get off the streets move to more protected areas. So far, the only sex shack in operation is located in Cologne, although another is under construction in Dortmund; Berlin is considering one as well.
Robert Kilp, a city official who oversees the program in Cologne, said only prostitutes with drug addictions were permitted to work at the site, which consists of several open-bay garages with space for customers to park their cars for a quick encounter. Police regularly patrol the area and social-service counselors try to help the prostitutes with their drug problems. He said about 40 to 50 women sell sex there each night.
Kilp said the program is often misconstrued. He said a U.S. consular official recently visited Cologne to investigate reports that the garages would be a magnet for trouble during the World Cup, but found no problems.
"We don't support drugs and prostitution. We want to get women off drugs and prostitution, so it's really a social service," he said. "Please write in your newspaper that there's absolutely no danger for American boys and girls."

You can see in the photo where two of the flags have been blackened out. It seems that for Muslims in Germany, protesting and trying to get your way also includes a show of force with clubs and knives. Europe has a real problem that they are not facing and I don’t know if they will before it gets too late.

Original Brokeback Mountain?

From the Washington Post Style Section (June 9, 2006).

For the folks on the Supreme Court, a retirement was even more cause for a midweek treat. On Wednesday afternoon, all nine justices -- plus recently retired colleague Sandra Day O'Connor and a handful of spouses -- sneaked over to the Library of Congress for a private screening of the John Wayne classic "Red River."
Justices traditionally hold a dinner for retiring members; this time they started the festivities with the 1948 western that is one of Arizona native O'Connor's all-time faves, a court spokeswoman said. Called "one of the greatest of all westerns" by Roger Ebert , "Red River" is a father-son saga set on a Chisholm Trail cattle drive. It's also a cult favorite because of the homoerotic undertones picked up by film scholars in later years. Surely not even Antonin Scalia could help but snicker during the scene where Montgomery Clift and John Ireland caress each other's weaponry. (Ireland's line: "There are only two things more beautiful than a good gun: a Swiss watch or a woman from anywhere. You ever had a Swiss watch?")…

I have no problem with the Justices taking in a John Wayne movie; I was raised on John Wayne and I think his movies provide great examples to teach young people such lost concepts as duty, honor, courage, respect, tolerance, patriotism, and what it means to be a good man. But, who is it that sees these “homoerotic undertones?” Why must people try to ruin something and why did the Post feel the need to include this in the story? Did O’Connor request this film because of some “homoerotic undertones” or does she simply enjoy the movie? This story will not change my opinion on John Wayne or any of his movies, but I want to know the intention of the Post in even including this aspect to an otherwise fluff piece.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi

Al-Zarqawi is dead. Enjoy hell Asshole.

Osama, You’re next.

Guess I am against those white people too

From the Detroit Free Press, June 8, 2006.

They called it Operation Motor City, and for five days, federal agents working late-night shifts in unmarked cars shadowed illegal immigrants living in towns and cities across southeast Michigan.
By Wednesday, 63 immigrants -- most of them from Eastern European countries and ranging in age from 10 to 60 -- were in the process of being deported in one of the largest roundups yet in an ongoing effort to clear Michigan and Ohio of an estimated 4,500 illegal immigrants.
"This was just one operation, and there will be more in the future," said Rob Baker, director of detention and removal operations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Detroit.
In May, Detroit's Hispanic community was rattled by the arrests of 18 illegal immigrants -- those raids coinciding with protests over proposed congressional action to crack down on undocumented workers and their employers.
Twenty-five of the people targeted during the latest operation, which lasted from May 31 to Sunday, were from Albania, while eight were from Macedonia, officials said. The rest were from 13 other countries.
Many had jobs, and some had been in the United States as long as six years.
Two were criminals -- one convicted on a charge of auto theft and another for selling drugs, officials said…

The November Mid-term Election

This isn’t good for Democrats.

Yesterday, former Republican Rep. Brian Bilbray defeated Democrat candidate Francine Busby, a school board member, in the race to serve out the term of former GOP Rep. Randy ''Duke'' Cunningham (R-CA).

Brian Bilbray won with 49 percent of the vote in the traditionally Republican California of San Diego. Democrat Francine Busby's 45 percent total barely improved on John F. Kerry's showing there in the 2004 presidential election. In 2004, Bush received 55% of the vote in the district, but in this special election, a third candidate ran for the office who was originally backed by the San Diego Minutemen which took away votes from Bilbray.

The election is significant because the campaign centered on Republican incompetence and corruption vs. immigration. The special election was held after disgraced Republican Congressman Randy ''Duke'' Cunningham resigned after admitting to taking bribes from lobbyists.

Bilbray, a former lobbyist, was painted by Busby as another political insider and campaigned against Republican corruption while the media hinted at Cunningham’s past of taking bribes from lobbyists and Bilbray’s former career as a lobbyist. Bilbray ran a campaign as being the anti-illegal immigration candidate, and even in Southern California, immigration trumped corruption.

Illegal immigration is the issue of the year and those Senators who voted in favor of S. 2611 better be prepared.

Protect the Institute of Marriage

This is a two-part statement. It is an update of the Senate’s vote on gay marriage today and a plea for the institute itself.
We all know that half of all marriage ends in divorce these days and many of these divorces come from some of America’s most famous couples. How often to do we hear or read that two famous people are divorcing because of irreconcilable differences? Marriage is a joke in Hollywood and I think this is influencing how people across the country view marriage as well. No one is my family who was married in the Catholic Church has ever gotten a divorce, and we believe that once you marry you agree to be with that person until death. Marriage is a sacred institution and too many people enter into as a temporary solution or as an excuse for a party and gifts. Think of some of the famous marriages that only lasted for 24 hours, or two weeks, or only a few months. When getting a divorce and getting married is easier than getting a driver’s license, people don’t take it seriously. When I get married, God willing and barring any early death, it will be one time and for the rest of my life. But, that is not the prevailing belief anymore.
Now, to turn the attention to the Senate’s vote on gay marriage.
The following story was reported by the Associated Press (June 7, 2006).

The Senate on Wednesday rejected a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, dealing a defeat to President Bush and Republicans who hope to use the measure to energize conservative voters on Election Day.
Supporters knew they wouldn't achieve the two-thirds vote needed to approve a constitutional amendment, but they had predicted a majority of votes. Instead, they fell one short, 49-48.
That was one vote more than they got last time the Senate voted on the matter, in 2004. Later that year, Republicans gained four seats in the Senate.
"We were hoping to get over 50 percent, but that didn't happen today," said Sen. David Vitter, R-La., one of the amendment's supporters. "Eventually, Congress is going to have to catch up to the wisdom of the American people or the American people will change Congress for the better."
"We're not going to stop until marriage between a man and a woman is protected," said Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan.
Wednesday's vote fell 11 short of the 60 required to send the matter for an up-or-down tally in the Senate. The 2004 vote was 48-50.
White House spokesman Tony Snow said Bush sees the issue in the long view.
"The defeat does not mean that he is despondent or he gives up on it," Snow said. "He knows that it's a long fight."
Supporters lost three key "yes" votes. Two Republicans changed their votes from yes in 2004 to no this time: Sens. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania. And Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., did not vote this time because he was traveling with Bush.
All told, seven Republicans voted to kill the amendment. The four others were Sens. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, Susan Collins of Maine, John McCain of Arizona, Olympia Snowe of Maine and John Sununu of New Hampshire.
Gregg said that in 2004, he believed the Massachusetts Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage in that state would undermine the prerogatives of other states, like his, to prohibit such unions…
A majority of Americans define marriage as a union of a man and a woman, as the proposed amendment does, according to a poll out this week by ABC News. But an equal majority opposes amending the Constitution on this issue, the poll found….
Republicans had hoped for a better showing given their four-seat gain in the Senate after the 2004 election, with supporters predicting more than 50 votes in favor of sending the measure for an up-or-down vote, called cloture…
"I do not believe the sponsors are going to fall back and cry about it," said Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah. "I think they are going to keep bringing it up."
The House plans a redux next month, said Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio.
"This is an issue that is of significant importance to many Americans," Boehner told reporters. "We have significant numbers of our members who want a vote on this, so we are going to have a vote."
The defeat came despite daily appeals for passage from Bush, whose standing is troubled by sagging poll numbers and a dissatisfied conservative base…
Democrats said the debate was a divisive political ploy.
"The Republican leadership is asking us to spend time writing bigotry into the Constitution," said Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, which legalized gay marriage in 2003. "A vote for it is a vote against civil unions, against domestic partnership, against all other efforts for states to treat gays and lesbians fairly under the law."
In response, Hatch fumed: "Does he really want to suggest that over half of the United States Senate is a crew of bigots?"…
Ben Nelson of Nebraska, the only Democratic senator who supports the amendment, voted "yes." The only other Democrat to vote in favor of moving forward with an up-or-down vote Wednesday, Robert Byrd of West Virginia, opposes the amendment itself.
Three senators did not vote: Democrats Christopher Dodd of Connecticut and John Rockefeller of West Virginia, and Republican Chuck Hagel of Nebraska.

Just so I get this straight, McCain voted for S. 2611 and against a Gay Marriage Amendment? If McCain wants to be a Democrat so badly why doesn’t he just switch parties? At this point, he could decide to move to Lynchburg, VA and become President of Liberty University and he is still not going to get the Republican Nomination. And Specter who voted against the Amendment was also the one who added the provision to S. 2611 to request the Mexican government’s permission to build any additional security fencing along the border; as you can guess, he is not up for reelection this year. With the exceptions of McCain and Specter those Republicans who voted no all came from New England: Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Senators Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, Susan Collins of Maine, Olympia Snowe of Maine and John Sununu of New Hampshire.

Islam Gone Wild

I got this, verbatim from from their Saturday, May 20, 2006 post. I was going to wait to ask for permission to post this here, but I figure if I give my source than I am just being a good scholar and giving credit where credit is due. This is entirely different from my normal postings. I left out the photo they included because it was too gruesome to include here.

Today's news from Germany buries the fact that the gang rapists of a 13 year-old were likely Arab Muslim immigrants:
I told you immigrant is the euphemism for Muslim. Remember this as you read news account so events surrounding Muslim violence.
Shock in Berlin as Suspected Rapists FreedNowhere is the news reported that this is part of a gang rape epidemic sweeping areas with high Arab Muslim immigration. As is the case with young Arab Muslims throughout the West, teenage girls are generally forbidden to go out, leaving separatist gangs of predatory Arab Muslim males with highly misogynist attitudes. Harassment of females has therefore exploded throughout the West, most shockingly demonstrated in the recent phenomenon of gang rape for sport. Listed below is the evidence. While these cases are primarily not related to the core group of committed Islamists within Arab Muslim immigrant populations, there is some "trickle-down" of attitudes so it is also worth noting the rape aspects of Jihad ideology as well: The Rape Jihad.GermanyShock in Berlin as Suspected Rapists Freed
The youths, aged 13 to 15, allegedly attacked their victim as she walked home from school in the Charlottenburg district which is generally seen as safe area with low crime rates.
While allegedly gang-raping the girl, the youths are reported to have filmed the sexual attack with a mobile phone camera. Media reports say the four later boasted about the rape to other school children and sent copies of the video to friends.
Police who detained the four earlier this week have so far not found any film footage of the alleged rape. There is suspicion the video pictures may have been erased and mobile phones of the suspects are being analysed by experts in a bid to retrieve any pictures
Adding to the potential explosiveness of the alleged rape is the fact that the four suspects are all the children of immigrant families, while the victim is German. The normally well-informed Bild tabloid said the suspects were two German-Turks, a German Russian and a German-Angolan.
Federal police statistics released on Monday show non-German youths under the age of 21 were twice as likely to be crime suspects last year than German nationals of the same age.
Officers in charge of the case are convinced the four youths carried out the gang rape and DNA tests are being carried out on sperm traces found on the victim.
Given the brutality of the attack, there has been anger over a decision by Berlin justice officials to order the youths be set free. The 13-year-old suspect is too young to be kept in detention under German law, but the other three could be held.
Berlin justice Senator Karin Schubert insists, however, that even youths suspected of violent crimes can only be kept locked up if there is danger they will flee justice.
FranceRacial Gangrape: Another Diversity Disaster more cosmopolitan centers like Paris and Australia, the game is blossoming. It consists in the ritual gang rape of white women by non-white immigrants....The ritual is known as a “tournante,” meaning “Take your turn,” and it consists of a black male becoming “friendly with” (seducing) a white female, preferably a teenager. Once they’ve become chums, the male lures the girl to a location where his buddies in the gang “take their turns” with her. In the case on trial in Paris, it was no fewer than 14 buddies. Unlike many victims of such fun, this young lady lodged a complaint with the police. As a result, she was gangraped a second time—this time, allegedly, by the 11 who went on trial in April....
The incident is not isolated. Police investigations of similar rapes were underway in three other French cities, and one French magistrate says the game has been going on since at least the 1980s. “Their technique was to pick up a young girl—a white girl—and once she had become the girlfriend of one of the members, he would allow his mates to make use of her”

The Australian Sun-Herald reports that police data show that some 70 racially motivated rapes of young white girls, one as young as 13, by Middle Eastern immigrants have taken place in the last two years. “Fifteen youths and men have so far been charged with more than 300 offenses relating to matters since mid-2000 alone. They are all of Middle Eastern extraction. None of those involved is presently before the courts....those in Australia don’t seem to be part of a gang initiation, but they are nonetheless clearly racially driven. “Before being brutalized,” the Australian paper reports, “other victims have reportedly been questioned about their Australian heritage or forced to endure taunts about their attackers’ prowess.” But, like the rapes in France, those in Australia follow a similar pattern in which one non-white male becomes intimate with a white girl, whom he then delivers to his friends for sexual violation, beating and humiliation.

The figures have nearly doubled in the last ten years: 467 rapes against children under the age of 15 were reported in 2004 compared with 258 in 1995. Legal proceedings continue this week in a case involving a 13 year old girl from Motala who was said to have been subjected to a group rape by four men. (Note: These four men were Kurdish Muslims, who raped the girl for hours and even took photos of doing so).
Fjordman wrote of the epidemic of rape in Sweeden:
Swedish girls Malin and Amanda were on their way to a party on New Year's Eve when they were assaulted, raped and beaten half to death by four Somali immigrants. Sweden's largest newspaper has presented the perpetrators as "two men from Sweden, one from Finland and one from Somalia", a testimony as to how bad the informal censorship is in stories related to immigration in Sweden. Similar incidents are reported with shocking frequency, to the point where some observers fear that law and order is completely breaking down in the country. The number of rape charges in Sweden has tripled in just above twenty years. Rape cases involving children under the age of 15 are six - 6 - times as common today as they were a generation ago. Most other kinds of violent crime Instability is spreading to most urban and suburban areas.
Rape charges in the capital are spiraling upwards, 40 percent higher from 1999 to 2000 and up 13 percent so far this year. Police Inspector Gunnar Larsen of Oslo's Vice, Robbery and Violent crime division says the statistics are surprising - the rising number of rape cases and the link to ethnic background are both clear trends....While 65 percent of those charged with rape are classed as coming from a non-western background, this segment makes up only 14.3 percent of Oslo's population. Norwegian women were the victims in 80 percent of the cases, with 20 percent being women of foreign background.
Alarmed at last week's police statistics, which revealed that in 68% of all rapes committed this year the perpetrator was from an ethnic minority, leading Muslim organizations have now formed an alliance to fight the ever-growing problem of young second and third-generation immigrants involved in rape cases against young Danish girls.
