Protect and Defend

Welcome to my blog, Protect and Defend. You don’t have to understand me. You only have to agree with me. I can live with losing the good fight, but I can not live with not fighting that good fight at all. - Publius

How you can make a difference

I have done my homework and found some easy ways for you all to let your Senators know how you feel about amnesty and the increased guest worker program.

This website will provide both a mailing address and a link that will take you directly to your Senators website where you fill in your contact information and you can email them directly.

In addition, there is a think tank in Arlington, Virginia called NumbersUSA. “NumbersUSA Action is a non-profit, non-partisan, public policy organization that favors an environmentally sustainable and economically just America. It opposes efforts to use federal immigration policies to force mass U.S. population growth and to depress wages of vulnerable workers. NumbersUSA Action is pro-environment, pro-worker, pro-liberty and pro-immigrant. Activists in the NumbersUSA Action network are Americans of all races and include many immigrants and the spouses, children and parents of immigrants.”

NumbersUSA will fax your Senator and Congressman for you even if you do not have a fax machine, the fax will appear from the address you provide and the telephone number you provide regardless of whether that number is a cell phone. In addition, NumbersUSA has already written the faxes for you on various pieces of legislation and gives you the ability to edit the faxes to more closely match your thoughts.

You do have to register with NumbersUSA because you do have to provide your name, address, telephone number, and email as this information will be included on the fax to your Congressmen and/or Senators.

These two options are two quick and easy ways to get involved and before it’s too late.

Well, the legwork did not put me out too much; I only hope that people come through.
By approving a smaller fence and amnesty, the Senate is going to try to proclaim the first Great Compromise piece of legislation since 1850 when the “slavery issue” was solved.
And for you history buffs, it was the House that wanted to end slavery and the Senate that kept blocking it.

Hey publius, check out my latest posting on the subject. You may not agree with all of it, but you may come across an argument you may not have heard before.
